Photo-real Digital Doubles for VFX, VR and Games

On this page I have listed some of 3d scans I have participated in, mostly as the lead 3d scan operator but also as supervisor, running scan processing software, registration or automation, artist doing cleanup, retopology and optimization, quality control and client delivery.

Depending on the year these scans were produced they were created using one of the following techniques (in reverse order):

  • Volumetric Capture Stage using 150 ZCAM cameras
  • Multi-Camera Full-Body Photogrammetry System using 147 Nikon DSLR cameras with Cross-Polarized Lighting
  • Multi-Camera Head-Only Photogrammetry System using 48 Nikon DSLR cameras
  • Eyetronics ShapeCam Structured Light Scanner

Due to the unflattering nature of most 3d scans I have opted not to show the models with textures.
