3D Scanning for VFX, Games and VR
Who Am I
Avid Gamer, VR enthusiast, tinkerer and pioneer in 3D scanning and optimization for real-time rendering.
In 2002 as part of my master’s degree I was fortunate enough to have been introduced to photogrammetry and virtual reality. My thesis project consisted of writing a stereo vision capable real-time render engine which could load 3D scanned assets and make them interactive.
After graduating I started my career as a 3D scan technician, operating portable scanners which were capable of quickly 3d scanning actors and then creating high resolution 3D assets for projects such as Poseidon, MLB 2K6 and GTA IV to name but a few. I also pioneered the use of photogrammetry in VFX for such films as Dragon Ball Z and Outlander.
In 2012 I fulfilled my dream of running my own studio: Another World Studios. I developed my own custom photogrammetry systems and have since had the opportunity to collaborate on projects such as Tomb Raider, Hitman and Ghost Recon! I’ve also made it my mission to share my expertise with independent game developers who need help bringing their ideas to life.
As of 2021 my path has taken me to the next level: Volumetric Capture, recording in full 3D entire actors’ performances for large scale productions such as Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom, The Flash and Avatar: The Last Airbender. As a supervisor I oversee the capture and subsequent processing of hundreds of volumetric capture shots before they get handed off to our visual effects vendors.

I would like to warmly thank Jan for the work in terms of quality, flexibility and schedule catch-up. We will definitely work again with Another World Studios for upcoming head scan needs!
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands
Very good experience with Another World Studios ! We appreciated every aspect: the casting service, the fast processing, the quality of the scans were amazing, the data followed our specs, the good communication and the retakes we asked for were processed very quickly. We would definitely use them again.
